Our vineyards were established and developed by our family company, which consists of three vineyards at separate locations in Renmark. This is to take advantage of the different soil types and to grow better and more distinctive grapes for winemaking.

Peter Markeas established the first vineyard in 1969, with 3 acres of Shiraz planted, which is used to make the Mallee Estate Shiraz. Today the vineyards consist of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Grenache, Mourvedre, Riesling and Chardonnay.

All wines are made from estate grown grapes therefore we ensure full quality control and traceability throughout the entire growing season. All our vineyards are HACCP certified through SGS International. We utilise cover crop methods to maintain soil moisture and build up organic matter in the soil. This allows a healthy environment for microorganisms to compost the organic matter, therefore reducing the need for industrial fertilisers.
